Christmas Time

As we approach Christmas morning we can not forget what that morning is all about.

Malachai Knew

“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts. “But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in former years.

 “Then I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against thesorcerers and against the adulterers and against those who swear falsely, and against those who oppress the wage earner in his wages, the widow and the orphan, and those who turn aside the alien and do not fear Me,” says the Lord of hosts. “For I, theLord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

And Isaiah knew

Who has believed our message?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of parched ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away;
And as for His generation, who considered
That He was cut off out of the land of the living
For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due?
His grave was assigned with wicked men,
Yet He was with a rich man in His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
But the Lord was pleased
To crush Him, putting Him to grief;
If He would render Himself as a guilt offering,
He will see His offspring,
He will prolong His days,
And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.
As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.
Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great,
And He will divide the booty with the strong;
Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.

Even James Earl Jones knows!

Christ came down to save us. His name is עִמָּנוּאֵל, God with us!

Let us not forget.

The Purpose of Hebrew

I’ve Been studying Hebrew for the past week trying to prepare for my final on friday. This will be short as I still have much to study.

I was having one of the usual anxiety attacks and I started to question why I am doing this. What am I here for. And then I came across this verse in my translating.

For those of you who don’t read Hebrew because you have lives, it is Isaiah 9:6.

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

And that is what it is all about, that’s what everything is about.

-Your Humble Servant.

Until the Tobacco is Burnt

Only until this pipe is ended
The tobacco burns away all
And upon the floor, the memories fall
It is my heart you have offended
Thus, I turn to pipe and tobacco, blended
Silently alone, I lean upon this wall
I will only allow my heart to recall
The vision of you, by my dreams attended
The smoke flying, enthralling, circling
But then, with tobacco burnt
I bid adieu to all thoughts of you
No longer to be a memory burdening
A memory forgotten, but a lesson learnt
No longer ideas of a Pas-de-deux

Concealment of That Which is Beautiful

When was the last time you cried?
When was the last time you saw something so beautiful you had but no option to do so?
Do the stars bring you to tears? Do the mountains cause you to weep?
When was the last time you felt something so strongly that you could burst?
You have eyes, but do you see? Can you truly see the stars?
It is possibly to kill this beauty with the scope of my individualism.
What can be seen when all that fills my vision is me?
